It’s easy to get caught in the grind of a day job, working at a desk for eight hours a day. Nine-to-five jobs are stable, and give you the assurance of a paycheck on a regular basis, and allow to provide for you and your family without having to worry too much about fluctuations in the economy or similar issues.
But if the word ‘grind’ really describes the way you feel about your work, and if you have bigger dreams than filling out expense reports, staying in a stable office environment, working for somebody else’s benefit might feel like you are selling yourself short.
Often, if you feel like you are missing out on your calling, the only thing that is holding you back is you. Fear constrains us, and tells us not to pursue our dreams, because our dreams are risky, unstable, and might lead to failure. But failure is nothing to fear—Edison is said to have failed at making the light bulb thousands of times before he finally got it right.
There are some material things that you need to start a company, mostly capital. However, to Start a business, the things you are really going to need are free, and come from within.
First and foremost, you’ll need determination. Persistence, tenacity, commitment—call it whatever you like, but you’ll need it in spades. The most common reason personal businesses fail is that the entrepreneur behind them wasn’t determined in the crucial, difficult moments. Know ahead of time that there will be challenges and hardship, and be resolute to not back down when you encounter them.
You’ll also need to consistently take action. There’s one significant difference between anyone who talks about starting a business and anyone who actually starts a business: action. If you decide to start a company, you have to consistently plan and act to bring that company up from nothing. What will kill your business before it is even off the ground is procrastination. Act now. Don’t wait to put something off. In fact, act before. Take the initiative to complete tasks early. Work hard, and leave no stone unturned. No matter what niche you decide to go into, this principle will hold true.
It’s not enough to just act, though. You have to make a habit of acting. This means that you have to act, have to work at your business every day. Just because you are your own boss doesn’t mean that you can do whatever you want. It’s actually harder for some people to work for themselves because they can’t give themselves orders. You have to be disciplined if you want to succeed.
You can hire someone to help you plan, you can pay someone to keep your finances in order, but at the end of the day, your business is your responsibility, and if you can gather the courage to make the decision to Start a business, you’ll find that the most expensive things you need are already within you.

Decide short and long term systems and whether workers will be employed or a partner is required. Managing a business takes endurance and effort.
