Just incase you have not heard, come December 6th, 2014, we’d be having our last edition of the CFA Digital Marketing Training for 2014.

This year has no doubt been a remarkable one of us and we grateful to the Almighty for the successes, failures and most importantly the lessons so far. Why We Inaugurated the Life Leadership Academy?

Leadership is both an interesting and important subject to me. This is one quality a lot of us lack, therefore, it gives me great joy to see organisations genuinely take the initiative towards being the solution.

Leadership is what makes all the difference is the life of every organisation, nation or family.

If you ask me, I’ll recommend that leadership studies should be introduced into our educational system at the very basic levels. The environment today is so polluted that we knowingly and unknowingly indoctrinate our younger ones into many negative activities.

How do we expect a child to grow up properly in the face of today’s corruption, the ‘sex like’ dance steps we see on TV and on the Internet aimed at making people slaves to their flesh, the do or die attitude towards power, or the shameless acts of stealing of our collective wealth by a few?

It takes the grace of God to raise godly children in this sort of environment, but it is does not just stop at the grace of God. The readiness and commitment of well-meaning men and women to be the change would also go a long way in creating a brighter future for these men and women.

To this end, I wish to commend the members and pastorate of New Life Baptist Church Port Harcourt, Rivers State for the giant strides taken towards the establishment and inauguration of Life Leadership Academy – designed to equip potential and real entrepreneurs with requisite knowledge to effectively take part in competitive market places.

I was indeed glad to be a part of the inauguration for a number of reasons;

  • I love speaking/talking. I am pretty passionate about it.
  • I cherish any opportunity to speak in the house of the Lord.
  • I seized the opportunity to have a feel of Port Harcourt since I have never been there.
  • I looked forward to making new friends.

If you ask me, how it went? I would say GREAT! I achieved all I set out to do and much more. I made new friends, from the pastors of the church, to the other facilitators as well as the other members of the church/community. It was a thrilling experience indeed!

3 Reasons Why I should be a Speaker at your next Event

I am CFA – Conditioned for Accomplishments and this is simply the motivation behind what I do or say. I care less about being as wealthy as Bill gates or Aliko Dangote or as popular as Tu-face or Jay-z. What is most important to me is to I live a life that glorify’s God and benefits man.

I would like to say what Apostle Paul said towards the end of his life;

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. – 2 Timothy 4: 7-8

This is my prayer and confession to God Almighty on a daily basis.

The above is a Facebook message I received from one of the students that heard me teach and speak about Motivation, Business Experience, Internet, Social Media, and SEO services at a FATE Foundation‘s Aspiring Entrepreneurs Programme (AEP) Class.

I left my audience excited, motivated, inspired, enlightened and re-energized for the bumpy entrepreneurial road ahead. Guess what? I confidently told them at the start of my presentation, that this is the best class they would have and I did my very best to live up to that “public display of arrogance.”

I decided to become a FATE Foundation Volunteer and speaker because of my conviction that I have so much to offer in my niche and this conviction stems from the fact that;

  1. I walk in the way of the Lord.
  2. I have paid my dues on the Internet.
  3. I have tried and failed thus gathered experience.
  4. I have read and still read quality books.
  5. I consciously work hard to remain humble because pride goes before a fall.

Let me say this with every sense of humility and responsibility, it is very unlikely that I will be a speaker at your event and not get your audience inspired, motivated, re-energized and renewed, this is because of my unique, down to earth style of presentation.

3 Reasons Why I should be a Speaker at your next event.

1. My Strengths as a Speaker

CFA speaking at FATE FoundationJust like every human, I have my areas of strength and weakness. I would not dare speak on a subject I know nothing about, when such offers come I simply decline because it will be a shame to stand in front of an audience and bore them.

I can authoritatively speak on Internet, Technology, Social Media, Sales, Marketing, Motivation and Entrepreneurship.

My style of presentation will wow your audience except if I wake up on the wrong side of my bed that day, which by the grace of God is most unlikely.

2. My Experience as a Speaker

I come from a modest background and therefore grateful to the Creator for giving me the grace to use this channel to share my experience and in turn make an impact.

Make no mistake about it, the fact that you don’t see many comments here does not mean that this blog has not been a blessing to thousands. I had to remove the header because I was becoming too popular for my liking/concentration, sometimes I would be in an event or walking somewhere and someone would ask; are you CFA? If I say yes, he or she goes thank you for being a blessing!

What is my point? I would not just show them my presentation slides but would share my experiences starting with how I got a job with Globacom using positive confession or how Natureline Nigeria came to be or how my entrepreneurial adventure has consumed millions or how I have come to realize man is nothing with God. Each time I share my story with an audience, they are always blessed.

3. My Fees as a Speaker

I am not money motivated although I admit that money is important for us to maximize life to the fullest. What thrills me most is the opportunity to stand before an audience and impart some ideas and knowledge in their sub conscious.

I don’t ask for a dime to speak to youth organizations, churches, fellowships (FGBMFI) etc. And as for organizations, I don’t have fixed rates, so it is open for negotiation.

By the grace of God, I have the capacity and ability to deliver the same value, if not more, than some of the “big names” in the motivational speaking circuit.

Remember, when all is said and down it is not the amount of money you made or how popular you are that matters, but the number of people that can truly say; that your life is/was a blessing.

A Success Training with Coach Lanre Olusola, Nigeria’s Top Coach

So, how did you end the month of April?

Crying? Whining? Hating? Cursing? Loving? Sharing? Happy? Sad? Lukewarm?

For me, I ended the month of April with a 3 hours success training session with Coach Lanre Olusola organized by FATE Foundation as a way of adding value to the lives of their volunteers (I teach young entrepreneurs how to leverage the Internet).

I must confess FATE has added value to my life for bringing in Coach Lanre Olusola to anchor this event. Although, the theme of the training was “becoming an innovative facilitator,” he spent a lot of time coaching us on various life skills. This is one major reason I admire the coaching profession, as a coach you will always look out for the best in others whether you are in full time or part time practice.

I registered a Coaching site – www.coachcfa.com close to 4 years now and have not really considered making it active. Although, I get mails from a lot of young Nigerians looking to start a career in Coaching, I still have not tapped into that opportunity for a number of reasons but not anymore – Coach Lanre Olusola did pour fuel into the fire already burning in me and only time can tell.

My intention today is to share some of the life changing tips I learnt from him, it’s not like I don’t already know a bit but you see like most humans, I have a challenge implementing the little I already know, (which is the action part) and this is exactly what makes all the difference – not the acquisition of knowledge.

Ok! So, here we go…..

Coach Lanre Olusola reminded us that the greatest skill you must acquire in life, if you hope to become a great facilitator or excellent communicator is “listening skills” I bet like me you have heard this for the umpteenth time but the question is how much of this have you put into practice?

Participants at the FATE Foundation train the trainer event 2012You see, we all love to talk, we all love to be heard and that is where the issue is, who then will listen? So, you see why he stressed the need to sharpen your listening skills.

Consider these…..

Why would God ask us to pray when he already knows all our needs? I bet God Almighty is the greatest listener who loves to listen to us.

Also, the Bible gives so many examples to prove that our Lord Jesus Christ and Apostle Paul were great listeners also – such that each time they spoke or responded, it was very impactful.

During the process of listening you focus would naturally be on the speaker and this will help you in your delivery or response. As a facilitator, when you focus on your students or trainees then you have a greater chance of teaching them more of what they need to learn and not what you want them to learn. Because in the final analysis is not about you but about them!

Next….. Humility to learn

The most flexible in thinking and behavior is the most powerful innovator. You don’t know it all so remind yourself always that you are ignoramus. Make it a duty to learn from someone, some people etc. The day you stop learning, you die……

Humility is critical if you must be an innovative trainer.

Coach Lanre admonished us to learn from our trainees and students. We should not come to class (or in life generally) believing that we know it all. Make it a duty to learn something new from everyone you meet because they might have some information that can make your life better.

Knowing the difference between truth and true?

Truth is universal but what is true is subjective to perception. If you’re anywhere like me, then you may have to drastically change your mindset and set aside certain personal beliefs, you think are unversal truths that everyone else has to accept.

In other to get where you want to, you ought to discover those beliefs that will take you there and then those that can possibly stop you.

Perception is stronger than reality.

Coach Lanre defined Perception as your internal interpretation and representation of facts. People’s interpretation of existing facts varies. Your perception colours your experience.

Questions to help you gauge your perception

 

  1. What is my angle?
  2. Why do I see things from this perceptive?
  3. How does it limit your facilitation?
  4. What perspectives do you need for balance?

His parting words…..

Did you know the average human processes close to 70,000 thoughts per day? Now can you believe that about 70% of these thoughts are completely negative and dis-empowering questions. Fight those negative thoughts!

I will be Speaking at the SME Toolkit Conference to mark Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011
